Using Fine Silver and 23K gold Foil you will learn how to create and design two (2)  pair of unique of earrings. The addition of gold will create and eye catching design.

    Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS



    Keum Boo is the ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply 23K gold foil to silver using heat. It is truly a unique bonding process.


    Class description:

    Using Fine Silver  and 23K gold Foil to you will create two (2) pair of unique earrings of your  own design.


    You will Learn:  

    Fine Silver and gold foil to create and design two pair of unique earrings. You will learn how to work with gold foil, hammer a texture, use heat to fuse gold foil onto fine silver, cut metal, prep metal, file, clean metal, cut gold foil, punch out designs with gold foil, and use patina. What tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques. You will go home with two (2) beautiful pair of Fine Silver earrings of your own creation and design.

    Design, the process of using heat to fuse gold foil to Fine Silver, cut metal, shaping metal, filing, cleaning, texturing, patina, punch designs, cutting gold foil, tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques,

    Tools to Bring:

    None ! Students will use studio tools.


    What to Wear:

    Comfortable clothes.  Latex gloves, apron, safety glasses and mask will be provided if needed.
