Hand stamping is a metalworking technique that dates back thousands of years. You have seen many pieces of jewelry with engravings but when a piece of metal is hand stamped, each letter, symbol, or texture is pressed into the metal using a hammer and a stamp. It become a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. The uniqueness of each stamp brings a certain personality to a piece of jewelry you make and will hold personal meaning to you as the crafter and to the person you give or sell your jewelry to.
"Cold Connection" or "Riveting" is a different way of connecting metal to metal (copper, sterling, gold or brass, etc.) without using a torch or heat source. Using this method of connecting metal you can design beautiful creative jewelry by using a hammer and some rivets and once you learn the the technique, the possibilities are endless.
Eva has authored two books on jewelry design: "Organic Wire & Metal Jewelry" and "Cool Copper Cuffs" and produced Instructional DVD's. She has an affinity for working with wire and metals and prefers to design in an organic and unstructured style.
