A fresh approach to creating a stone on stone pendant. In this class you will learn to bezel a large stone, attach a back plate to the larger stone, design a bail, and lots of texture, soldering, and imagination will go into creating this pendant. The end result is a stunning sterling silver pendant that you crafted with a new technique and your own design.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS
This class was inspired by the “Stone on Stone Pendant” and with a few adjustments made into a simpler process. You will construct a bezel for a large stone, put a stem on the smaller bezel and attach it to the larger stone. The larger stone you will create the bezel, solder a back plate, texture and make a bail. It is really a unique process and once learned can apply the technique to rings, earrings, bracelets and more pendants.
You will Learn:
You will learn how to design a pendant by, attach a tubing to a small bezel, make a bezel, mount a stone on top of another stone, create and attach a bail, secure stones in a bezel setting, polish/finish the piece. Once you learn the stone on stone technique, you can apply the technique on rings, earrings, bracelets and more pendants.
Fabricate a pendant, soldering, filing, using a torch, how to use flux, annealing, clean metal, how to and when to pickle, sanding, forming, texturing, cutting sterling, creating bezel setting, mounting stones in bezel setting, setting a smaller stone on top of a larger stone, solder different types of joints, solder a tube and attaching a bail, what gauge metal works best for pendants, what type of stone works best, patina, finishing/polishing techniques.

What to Wear:
Comfortable or Old clothes .,,. And Please wear closed toe shoes you will be using a torch ...Apron, Latex gloves, safety glasses and mask will be provided if needed.
