You will design two beautiful and unique rings while learning two completely different processes.
Ring 1: Using Sterling Silver sheet metal and sterling silver scraps you will create a ring of your own design.
Ring 2: You will create a ring using sterling silver wire.
Two different approaches to sterling silver ring making, but both using soldering and imagination

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS
Ring 1: Sterling silver scraps, sheet metal and a little imagination … and the results is your own designed ring.
Ring 2: Some wire, a little solder, a torch and a few new techniques you will fabricate a stylish sterling silver ring.
Julie will teach how easy it is to create two different rings, with two different approaches, just by using some unique techniques but the outcome will be the same …. Two beautiful rings.
You will Learn:
From scratch a beautiful ring using different shapes and sizes of scrap sterling silver wire and sheet metal soldered onto a ring base by cutting metal, preparing metal, filing, cleaning metal. What tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques. You will go home with 2 sterling silver rings that you created.
Design, the process of soldering sterling silver to sterling silver, cut metal, shaping metal, filing, cleaning, torch skills, sizing your rings, wire wrapping, using Sterling wire to make a ring, using sterling sheet metal to make a ring, how to embellish a ring, what tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques, You will learn two different techniques of ring making.

None ! Students will use studio tools.
What to Wear:
Comfortable clothes. Latex gloves, apron and mask will be provided if needed.
