You will design a sterling silver cuff, using square wire, cones, colorful crystals, and the end results will be a different and unique designed cuff that will sparkle.

    ​This cuff is based on one that Kiev Pham Gray taught here at SAS by Design Studio.



    Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing,  Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS.


    Class description:   

    With a twist and a sparkle you will be wearing a unique sterling silver cuff. The crystals  are colorful and this cuff is certainly different.


    You will Learn:

    Julie  will teach you the secrets to twisting square sterling silver wire, you will forge metal, use a torch, solder sterling silver, use a mandrel to form cuff, learn which type of solder to use, flatten wire using a hammer, twist square sterling silver wire individually and then together to for the cuff, prep metal by filing, sanding, cleaning, texturing, quenching, annealing, how to use a drill to twist wire, which tools work best, understanding the right gauge wire for the project, the process of attaching a colorful crystal to the end of your cuff,  polish and finishing techniques.


    Skills Covered:

    The art of  twisting square sterling silver wire, forge metal, use a torch, soldering sterling silver, type of solder to use, prep metal, filing, sanding, cleaning, texturing, quenching, annealing, using a drill to twist square wire, flatten wire, use a mandrel, attaching a colorful crystal to the end of cuff, process of twisting two twisted square wires together, tools that work best, gauge of wire that works best, attaching crystal to end of cuff, polishing and finishing techniques.

    Kit to Include:  

    Everything need to complete this prject.


    Skill Level: 

    No experience necessary.

    Tools to Bring:  

    None, You will use studio tools.


    What to Wear:

    Closed toe shoes (you will be using a torch) and comfortable clothes should be worn. Apron, latex gloves,eye protection and mask will be provided if needed.
