NOTE: A Prong setting, also known as a claw setting, is a ring setting that has three or more metal tines, or prongs, that stick up and hold the stone in place. The prong will be soldered onto a piece of jewelry such as a ring or pendant to allow the mounting of the stone. This type of setting allows more light to enter the stone, increasing its brilliance.
