In this class you will make two pair of earrings… one for you and one for a gift, if so desired. The first pair is sterling  with a delicate pearl and the second pair has an interesting twist shape.

    ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:

    Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing,  Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS  

     

    Class description:

    These sterling silver earrings are so much fun to make. You will solder you will make your own  ear-wires,  texture wire on both. On one pair you will add a touch of  class with a delicate pearl and on the other pair you will flatten and twist the wire to form an interesting shape.

     

    You will Learn:  

    Design, selecting what type wire to use, soldering, anneal and quinch metals, the art of making  ear-wires, secure a pearl, hammer texture, filing, embellish, flatten and twist wire, which gauge wire works best, measuring wire, polish, finishing techniques and safety tips when soldering.

     

    Skills Covered:    

    Design, soldering, annealing and quenching metals, make ear-wires, secure a pearl to metal, hammer texture, filing, embellish, flatten and twist wire, gauge wire works best, measuring wire, polish, finishing techniques and safety tips when soldering.

    Every thing needed to complete this project

    Tools to Bring:

    None ! Students will use studio tools.

     

    What to Wear:

    Comfortable clothes.  you will be soldering so please tie long hair back and wear closed toe shoes. Latex gloves, apron, safety glasses and mask will be provided if needed.

    No refunds are provided if you cannot attend your scheduled class.  You may send someone in your place if you let us know to expect them.  We reserve the right to cancel a class at anytime.  If that happens, for any reason, you will receive a full refund.  In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule the class or give a full refund.
