Class description: 

You will form two open loops using sterling silver heavy gauge wire and intertwine the wire into a love knot bracelet.

  

You will Learn:   

How to use a torch, form a knot in heavy gauge sterling silver wire, anneal, solder, bend and shape heavy gauge wire, bracelet forming using a mandrel, filing and cleaning metal, how to cut wire, hammer wire, when and how to use binding wire, what tools to use, how to work with wire, and size of wire to use. patina and finishing. You will learn about different gauges of wire, and which type of solder to use for different torching. Last but not least you will learn safety tips.

 

Skills Covered: 

Using a torch, soldering, annealing, filing, sanding, cleaning, forming, techniques working with heavy gauge wire, using a bracelet mandrel, patina, cutting wire, using round nose pliers to bend wire, using a vice to tighten knots, straighten and solder wire together, how to use binding wire to assist in soldering, hammering, and finishing techniques.

What to Wear:

Closed toe shoes are a must.. you will be using a torch ...Comfortable clothes.   Apron, Latex gloves, safety glasses  and mask will be provided if needed..
