ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS
Note:
Keum Boo is the ancient Korean technique applying 23K gold foil to fine silver using heat. Once you learn the process you will want to go home and create rings. earrings, pendants and braelets using this technique.
Class description:
Combining Sterling Silver, Fine Silver and 23K gold Foil to create a beautiful and unique adjustiable Ring. You will choose your own design. This is a beautiful and inexpensive way to add gold to your project.
You will Learn:
Using Fine Silver and 23K gold foil you will learn to create and design a unique adjustiable ring. You will learn how to work with 23K gold foil, make a fine silver bezel with a sterling silver base, hammer a texture, fusing gold foil onto fine silver, cut metal, prep metal, filing, cleaning metal. What tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques. You will go home with Ring of Fine Silver that you created.
