This Celtic weave cuff embraces the timeless elegance and symbolism of Celtic culture. You will create a Woven cuff using round copper wire. The cuff can be embellished with beads (your choice of color) to add a little bling to your cuff.  These bracelets make great gifts for family and friends and are so much fun to make.

    ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:

    Julie began creating jewelry over Twenty years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lamp-work glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS

    Class description: 

    The question is to Bling or Not to Bling ?? Your choice and if you go bling you will have the choice of bead color. By using 5 strains of wire you will be inspired to weave  a traditional Celtic pattern showcasing interlaced weaves. It is so cool. Julie will share all the details for a perfect cuff.

     

    You will Learn:   

    Select the appropriate wire, bending and shaping,  forming using a mandrel, filing and cleaning metal, how to cut wire, hammering wire, how to set the wires up to form the cuff, weave the wire in the repetitive pattern, add beads to the cuff (if desired), wire wrap the ends to finish the cuff,  what tools to use, how to work with wire, and size of wire to use   and finishing. You will learn about different gauges of wire, and which   Last but not least you will learn safety tips.

     

    Skills Covered: 

    Select wire, bending and shaping, forming using a mandrel, filing, cleaning metal, cutting wire, set the wires up to form the cuff, weave in the repetitive pattern, add beads (if desired), wire wrap ends, what tools to use, work with wire, size of wire to use, different gauges of wire, finishing and polishing techniques and safety tips.

    Tools to Bring:   None, You will use studio tools.

     

    What to Wear:

    Closed toe shoes are a must.. you will be using a torch ...Comfortable clothes.   Apron, Latex gloves, safety glasses  and mask will be provided if needed..
