NOTE:
A Prong setting, also known as a claw setting, is a setting that has three or more metal tines, or prongs, that stick up and hold the stone in place. The prong will be soldered onto a piece of jewelry such as a earrings, ring or pendant to allow the mounting of the stone. This type of setting allows more light to enter the stone, increasing its brilliance. Prong setting is used in jewelry making to set unusual or oddly shaped stones, gems, glass, sea glass and even found objects.
Dichroic glass displays several different colors depending on the angle of view and lighting conditions which causes an array of colors to be displayed. It is absolutely beautiful when used in jewelry making.
