ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:

Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lamp-work glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS

 

Class description:

You will design two beautiful and unique rings while learning two completely different processes.

Ring #1 will be your own creation using different shapes and sizes of sterling silver pieces to fuse to your sterling silver ring, using soldering techniques.

Ring #2 is delicate looking ring using wire to form your creation, adding a stone, pearl or bead to accent this exquisite ring.

 

You will Learn:  

Creating from scratch a beautiful ring using different shapes and sizes of scrap sterling silver wire and sheet metal soldered onto a ring base by  cutting metal, prepping  metal, filing, cleaning metal. What tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques, how much wire to cut for your ring size.  

 

Skills Covered:    

Design, the process of soldering sterling silver to sterling silver, cut metal, shaping metal, filing, cleaning, torch skills, sizing your rings, copper wire to make a ring, using sterling sheet metal to make a ring, how to embellish a ring a stone, pearl or bead, what tools to use, polishing and finishing techniques, You will learn two different  techniques of ring making.

Comfortable clothes.  Latex gloves, apron, safety glasses and mask will be provided if needed.

No refunds are provided if you cannot attend your scheduled class.  You may send someone in your place if you let us know to expect them.  We reserve the right to cancel a class at anytime.  If that happens, for any reason, you will receive a full refund.  In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule the class or give a full refund.
