ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:

Julie began creating jewelry over fifteen years ago. She is talented, creative and qualified to teach just about anything: all types of metal and silversmithing, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), wire works, sheet metals, wire wrapping, fused glass, lampwork glass, wire and beading techniques. She has studied at the prestigious William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, at Rio Grande, and she is a certified PMC artisan. Her work can be seen at Gallery 782 in Biloxi, MS

Class description:

Your will create your ring using sterling silver, make a bezel, embelish it with a cabochon in a color you choose add some texture  and best of all it is adjustable.

  

You will Learn:  

You will make a beautiful Sterling Silver Adjustable Ring by choosing your own design and colors. You will learn design, texturing metal, making a bezel, how to set a stone in the bezel,how to use a bezel pusher, soldering, anealing,  quinching, stone setting, how to use a ring mandrel and  form a ring,  use a flex shaft, filing, applying patina (optional), how to polish and finish your ring.  

 

 Skills Covered:  

Design, texturing, bezel making, soldering, annealing, filing,   use of flex shaft, patina, using a bezel pusher, stone setting, how to use a ring mandrel, pickling, quinching, ring forming, polishing, finishing techniques and Shop safety.

Kit to Include:

Kit will include everything need to complete your adjustable ring.  

 

Skill Level: 

No experience necessary.

Tools to Bring:  

None, You will use studio tools.

 

What to Wear:

Old clothes and since you will be using a torch so please wear closed-toe shoes to class. Apron, safety glasses, latex gloves and mask will be provided if needed.

No refunds are provided if you cannot attend your scheduled class.  You may send someone in your place if you let us know to expect them.  We reserve the right to cancel a class at anytime.  If that happens, for any reason, you will receive a full refund.  In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule the class or give a full refund.
